A simple way for students to own a bike
The CM Punjab Electric Bike Scheme 2026 is a government programme launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. It helps students and teachers buy a new bike without paying a large amount at once.
Instead of paying the full price, you pay a small down payment and then easy monthly installments (kist) for about two years. The government pays the bank markup, so you never pay any interest. On top of that, every electric bike gets a subsidy of up to Rs 70,000.
The aim is to help young people reach college safely, save money on fuel, and make Punjab’s air cleaner with electric bikes.

Six big reasons to join the scheme
This is one of the most affordable ways for a middle-class family to own a new bike.
Zero interest (0% markup)
The Punjab government pays the full bank markup. You only return the actual price of the bike in easy monthly installments — no hidden charges.
Up to Rs 70,000 subsidy
A large government subsidy on every electric bike lowers your cost, so a new e-bike stays within a middle-class budget.
Small monthly installments
Electric bikes are roughly Rs 3,000 per month and petrol bikes Rs 3,000–4,000 per month, spread over about 2 years.
Save on fuel, help the air
An electric bike charges at home for a few rupees and produces no smoke — good for your pocket and for Punjab’s air.
100% online — no agent needed
Apply from home in about 10–15 minutes. No office visits, no paperwork queues, and no middleman fees. Beware of anyone asking for money.
Backed by Bank of Punjab
Financing and verification are handled by the Bank of Punjab, so the process is transparent and government-supervised.
